Crystal Burt’s Baked Beans

Ingredients:
½ lb. bacon chopped into ½ inch dice
2 (32oz.) cans baked beans
½ c. ketchup
1/3 c. brown sugar
2 tbsp. hot pepper sauce (such as Tabasco or Texas Pete's)
2 tbsp. honey

1. In a heavy pot or dutch oven, add the chopped bacon and cook over medium heat just until the fat begins to render, about 4-5 minutes.
2. Add baked beans, ketchup, brown sugar, hot pepper sauce and honey. Bring to a simmer over medium heat.
3. Reduce heat slightly to maintain a slow simmer for 25-30 minutes, or until flavors are combined.
